Heather Heath, M.Ed, CCC-SLP

Heather Heath is the owner/director of Coastal Speech Therapy Inc. Heather grew up in Wallace, North Carolina. Heather is a former Kindergarten teacher for New Hanover County Schools. There she gained special interest in early language and phonetics development which led her to pursue a Master’s degree in speech language pathology. She has worked in the public school system, hospital, and private practice settings. Heather enjoys camping and boating with her husband, Bartley. They have two boys and a girl, Fisher, Brody and Georgia Burke, and two labs, Mali and Bella.

Jennifer Kennedy, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Jennifer has worked with Coastal Speech Therapy since the summer of 2016.  She grew up in Beulaville and currently resides in Hampstead.  She is happily married to her high school sweetheart and has a 4 year old son, Jase.  Jennifer has worked in both Wake and Pender County Schools.  She loves helping our children find their voice whether it be with high-tech communication devices or sign language.

Nancy Thomas CCC-SLP

Nancy has been working with Coastal Speech Therapy since fall of 2016.  She lives in Wilmington, North Carolina with her husband, Kim, and son, Kipling.  Prior to moving to Wilmington she lived in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico for ten years.  There Nancy and her husband started a school that focused on bilingual education.  She has a passion for helping children in bilingual households and ensuring their communication is not limited by a language barrier.  In her spare time, Nancy can be found on the soccer sidelines cheering on Kipling, #17.

Cassie Starkey CCC-SLP

Cassie joins us from Las Vegas, Nevada, where she worked with a variety of diagnoses within the pediatric population with other Speech, OT, and PT professionals.  Cassie specializes in delayed language, articulation,  Apraxia, Dysarthria, voice, social-communication skills specifically with Autism, and feeding/dysphagia.

Cassie enjoys traveling with her husband, exploring National and State parks, hiking, and taking the RZR out for a ride.  Cassie hopes to become more involved and gain more experience and training in regards to animal-assisted therapy specifically with service dogs.

Coastal Speech Therapy also works alongside great Occupational Therapists.  This picture was taken at a county wide Special Olympics event.  We had a great time supporting some of our local kids.

Earl Rogers is a Spanish Interpreter. He is the owner/interpreter for Don Rogelio’s Services Latinos.  Earl is a Certified Interpreter and has completed training and testing requirements through Duplin General Hospital (Now Vidant Duplin Hospital).  Earl helps us meet the needs of our Spanish speaking patients.
